N Scale. N Scale is 1:160 scale. Introduced to back in 1962, N scale has become very popular. You will find a large variety of road name and prototypes from the very early steam era up to the modern day. With the continued perfection of injection molding and fine pad printing, the quality and realism of N scale has reached new levels. You will also find some incredible models crafted in brass.
My father was an avid model railroader and he chose N scale because he liked the amount of running and switching you could fit in a small area. At it’s peak, his railroad had 2 main yards and 5 towns. You would build your consist in the main yard and head out on switching duties. Complicated runs could take you a couple of hours (if you didn’t use the five finger crane!)
